Dubstep is dead!?

May 26, 2009

Over here in Germany it seems that Dubstep is somehow taken over by the Reggae-Scene, but to be honest meditation and smoking weed in the club isn’t what I call having a party. I’ve been bored last night and decided to give Dubstep another chance and record a quick little mix. Only 30 minutes, but more than 15 tunes in the mix. Nothing big, but sure something different.

Playlist? Download?
Maybe on MySpace later. You can also find a Baltimore Club Mix there with 40 tracks in 60 minutes.
Check me out at or visit my German website

Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed (Jakwob remix)

May 25, 2009

Ellie GouldingI just stumbled upon this gem! Nothing less than a brand nu summer dubstep-like tune straight from the british Island. Mister Jakwob on this with a fabulous remix of young London based singer Ellie Goulding.

Burn it on CD, take out your boombox, hang out at the lake and listen!

Sabrina – Boys (KLOSELINE’s BMore Rework)

May 25, 2009

I did a BMore Rework (its basically a club edit without changes in structure etc…) of Sabrina’s 80s anthem. It’s super cheesy but my brother wanted me to make thisfor him. Give it a go and if your’elike him, you might like it 😉

Glitch and Bass

May 22, 2009

112Latest bomb drop from Bar 9 moving his style forward with a smart move on ‘Coalescence’ backed with the brutal raver ‘Domination’. The A-side cleverly starddles two ends of the dubstep spectrum with one foot in Joker styled funky riffage and the other in stepping in some Jakes or Tech Itch turbo fuelled territory making for a universal dubstep floor winner. ‘Domination’ is a little more lunk-headed, made for those who needed a Hard House version of ‘Murda Sound’ with forceful 4/4’s and peaking synthlines. Niche Megasoid Glitch-Hop Remix of Dre’s classic! SF is reprezenting a lot in here…. 🙂

When I started diggin’ for Mashups and Bastard Pop Bootlegs years ago, these two guys from France where allways one of the first ones to look after. Now they did a two hour Mixtape which is allready on heavy rotation in my house for a few days. In the early days it seemed Mashups where pretty much about Rapvocals, 80ies, Rock and Popmusic. Loo & Placido don’t give a f*!# about any genrelimitation and use everything they like from classic Swing to modern elektronic Bassline Rave.

The heads at and dropped the bomb with 2 new Jordan V colour lines.
I’m a huge Jordan 5 Fan myself, unfortunately it is unlikely that I am able to pick up one of these in my area :-/
Head over to and check out more pinup pictures.

Feeling this song right now:

Also, I have a nice remix of Postal Service, by Mexican with Guns

And a rework of Rocksteady Crew’s Hey you by Justin Faust

Controllerism with a Vestax VCI-300

May 18, 2009

To kick off as a contributor for this new blog I start with posting this video. It shows me looking for ideas to work out for a Controllerism routine with the Vestax VCI-300 Midicontroller and Serato ITCH software.

This is some stuff I’m still working on:

-Playing drums with the CUE-buttons and creating melodies using the pitchfader at the same time
-Backspins with a little help of cuepoints, so you don’t have to turn the jogwheels to get back at the same point of a track
-Cutting tracks into pieces and rearange them using the cuepoints or play new melodies like I did
-Using Ean Golden’s tempo trick in a different way
-Basic Scratches just to show that reacts like regular vinyl without any latency
